Retail Payments Summit – A Home Run!
What a whirlwind the past week has been! After months and months of planning, FIS’ Global Retail Payments division has the inaugural Retail Payments Summit under our belt. Our week was filled with client meetings, breakout sessions, special events and an overall good time! Here are some highlights from our week at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL, including ways we celebrated our new partnership with Minor League Baseball:
- The Green Shoes: This year, all employees at the Retail Payments Summit had FIS Green Chuck Taylors made for the event. These shoes were a hit! They let clients know who was part of the Global Retail Payments division and were a fun addition to the week.
- Jared Cohen and Jim Morris: Our keynote speakers hit it out of the park this year. Jared Cohen, Google Ideas Co-founder, talked about his experiences abroad and was able to tie them back and give his listeners insight into the payments world. We could listen to him talk for hours! Jim Morris, former professional baseball player and inspiration for the movie “The Rookie,” spoke of his struggles on and off the baseball field and left his audience feeling empowered to do good in the world. Another home run!
- An Evening with the Home Team: Clients had the opportunity to hang with the home team – our own Global Retail Payments Executives – for a night of food and fun! Our jersey-clad executives got the chance to mix and mingle with retail payments clients under the stars at the Caribe Royale pool. The execs even had their own baseball cards! Hey, batter batter!
- The Ballpark of the Future: Clients were able to experience the Ballpark of the Future and get in the Dugout with Payments first-hand last week. The experience room featured real Points of Sale, a real stadium complete with bleachers, and showcased some of the products FIS can offer. Cracker jacks anyone?
